It is my main purpose to provide you with as much information and insight as possible to help you make a successful decision when choosing an assembly program for your middle and high school students.

and speaking of successful decisions…

How will your Middle and High School Students

Handle the Difficult Decisions that Lie Ahead?

There always needs to be a positive theme in mind when I develop my assembly programs. With my “Success Magic” assembly program the above question was my starting point.

I wanted to develop an engaging, enlightening, age appropriate school assembly program for middle school and high school students that they would enjoy.  It had to be memorable, educational, fun, and filled with many important messages designed to provide a lasting life impact on pre-teens and teenagers.

I’m sure you would agree that this is a pretty tall order especially if you’ve ever tried to talk about important topics to a teen or a group of teens. They won’t listen unless you speak their language and this is why so many K-6 motivational performers remain at the K-6 level. It is an entirely different ballgame when you attempt to enter the middle school / high school market.

I’m not gonna lie, I was pretty nervous the first time I performed in front of a group of middle school students about 10 years ago. Since then, my “Success Magic” program has undergone quite a few changes, but I had to start somewhere. I have learned that the secret to creating a program is that it needs to evolve with every performance. To accomplish this it is crucial for me to observe what is working, what is not working and what could be working better in its place?

Pack Small and Play Big

The real challenge comes later that day when I attempt to come up with that “groundbreaking” idea. In other words, I need to find a specific magic trick that is large enough to be seen by a group of 500 students, that I can build a specific message around,  that is age appropriate for teenagers, that is within my ability range, that will get a huge reaction, that will fit into my travel suitcase. In other words, I follow the working magician’s rule “pack small and play big”. But the ultimate challenge comes at the next performance when the idea is implemented in front of 500 students.

I’m happy to report that after hundreds of “Success Magic” performances, the program is light years better than it was 10 years ago. However, there is always room for improvement and with each performance I still follow the same rules and ask myself the same crucial questions after each performance.

Keep it Simple!

My concept is simple. I engage them with amazing magic and mind reading effects and then, once I have their undivided attention I talk about making successful decisions regarding crucial topics such as:

  • Handling peer pressure
  • The evils of drugs, alcohol and cigarette smoking
  • Setting and achieving goals
  • Treating others with respect
  • Overcoming obstacles
  • The importance of having a positive attitude
  • Choosing the right friends
  • And much more…

The important positive messages teenagers need to hear are neatly wrapped up within the magic as the students remain focused and engaged throughout the program. Each of the “Success Magic” core principles are illustrated as permanent positive impressions are made on the minds of your middle and high school students.
